Characteristics required for Brown Fused Alumina for Sandblasting
Zhongsen Editor 2024-10-27When used for Sandblasting, Brown Fused Alumina is usually used to remove the burr, welding spot, rust, dust, oxidation layer on, carve or polish surface of metal or non-metal workpieces. As one member of abrasives, it must have high hardness, good toughness and excellent cutting ability to do its job, good wear resistance to achieve economic efficiency, and high impurity and little dust to be health and environment friendly.
Hardness: Aluminium Oxide(Al2O3) is the main chemical content which decides hardness of Brown Fused Alumina, content of which is about 95%. The higher Al2O3, the harder it is.
Toughness: Moderate toughness will enable BFA the best performance, especially to improve its durability and reduce heat produced. Content of Titanium Oxide(TiO2) is an important content for toughness, which should be as high as possible in reasonable range.
Cutting Ability: Suitable particle distribution will let it have fine grit size, sharp and more edges will make it cut more efficiently.
Wear Resistance: As the most common abrasives, cost of Brown Fused Alumina used is also very important for the user. It's required to be used for more times and less break. As a manufacturer, we contribute our full technology and experience to the fusion process, and select the best lumps for our production. BFA we make has perfect crystal structure and little impurity, so ideal for more resuable applications.
Little Dust: Well selected BFA lumps and better cleaning process give it less dust, contamination and magnetic content, which is important to protect workers and the environment, reduce heat and iron spot caused on metal surface.
